How nice it was to see our friends again today! We had an action packed day which included a few new experiences... Play During Play the campers were invited to participate in a parachute activity. Buddies: Day 5 (July 2016)
Circle Time 100% participation again today! Since everyone is doing so well with staying together and following directions, we will take a few "field trips" to locations around the camp in the next week.
Today we sang "Hello", "Shark", "Hey Burrito", "Go Bananas", and "The Wheels on the Bus." It was lovely to see the campers engaging more with gestures and occasional verbalizations during the songs. Exploring We had some extra time to explore the classroom toys and games


Buddies: Day 4 (July 2016)
Circle Time We had 100% participation in Circle Time for the second day in a row! We increased the level of engagement by giving the campers opportunities to make choices about songs. The campers were presented with symbols to choose what song the group would sing. Today's songs included "Hello", "Old MacDonald", and "Wheels on the Bus." It was so wonderful to see all of our campers participating in social activities today! We were especially happy to see campers initiating interactions with each other. Buddies: Day 2 (July 2016)
Circle Time Today's Circle Time songs included "Hello", "Five Little Monkeys", and the"Shark Song." We encouraged all of the campers to sit near the group for at least one minute to promote participation in social activities. Arts & Crafts/Sensory Shaving cream is an interesting texture for the campers to explore. We encouraged the campers to explore the texture by mixing the cream with paint. Buddies: Day 1 (July 2016)
The campers enjoyed helping our staff member, Lucinda, with preparing the ingredients for a smoothie. Once everything was prepared, campers were given the option of assisting with blending by pressing the on button. J* and J* enjoyed the loud sound and vibration of the blender while the other campers watched.
