The Red, Yellow, and Blue teams played a circle game called 'Save the whale' in Play Campers sat in a tight circle representing the ocean shore. They passed the "whale" ball across the circle to each other as fast as they could. Then a second ball, “the predator” moved randomly. The group had to use strategy to keep the whale safe from getting touched by the predator ball by changing directions and tossing it with purpose. It was super fun! Creators read Lost and Found, then made paper towel roll penguins riding a little paper bowl boat. Some made paper bowl umbrellas for their penguin like the book! Projects dove beneath the waves with the Shelly the sea turtle to learn about the zones of the ocean, starting with the sunlight zone near the surface. They got to listen to lots of whale songs! Teen Voyagers put their game faces on as they gathered for their turn at challenges. They started with 'Bead Sort', then 'Flip Cup Tic-Tac-Toe', next 'Cup Race Down the Line', and finally 'Cup Tower Challenge'. Purple, Orange, Green, and Silver teams got to have fun with board games, everyone had a blast playing their favorites with friends! Engineers continued the shark research lab with learning about their different types of teeth, then made shark jaws out of paper plates. Innovators go to learn about how pressure works in the sea with a fun lab, they got to shrink marshmallows by sucking the air out with plastic syringes and blowing up gloves like balloons. It was super cool! Studio Art made clay sea creatures, today they did a wonderful job sculpting their ocean critters! Cooking got to make greek salads today, an excellent healthy snack! Recess had lots of fun with toys and the beloved scooters!
