Buddies: Day 2 (July 2016)

Circle Time

Today's Circle Time songs included "Hello", "Five Little Monkeys", and the"Shark Song." We encouraged all of the campers to sit near the group for at least one minute to promote participation in social activities.

Arts & Crafts/Sensory

Shaving cream is an interesting texture for the campers to explore. We encouraged the campers to explore the texture by mixing the cream with paint. Some campers preferred to paint with pipe cleaners.

Recess

Recess is typically unstructured, child-directed play and exploration. During this time the counselors look for opportunities to promote social skills and to facilitate social interactions. The counselors participate in some of the play in order to model playground etiquette, equipment use, and social interactions.
